We are.

We are underneath, for the most part unnoticed but still, to our way of thinking, required.

She is as well, on the surface.  A professional, married, a mother, a grandmother, a friend and many other good and honorable things.

But this is OUR journal.  Not in defiance of her, but separate from her, as we have always been. The thoughts and feelings expressed here are ours and we take sole responsibility for expressing them.
